Sail Newport’s Brooke Gonzalez Advanced Racing Clinic will be held for the 7th year June 19 (report day) 20, 21 and 22, 2008. This is the weekend prior to the start of the Youth Championships, this year in San Francisco, CA. Come learn from the best coaches prior to the Youths! Based on the success of the CISA clinic in southern California, Sail Newport and the family of Brooke Emmens Gonzalez embarked on a plan to create a high end clinic on the East Coast. We are in our 6th year of the Brooke Gonzalez Advanced Racing Clinic. We enjoy the reputation for highest quality coaching, fabulous hospitality, ocean sailing conditions and remarkable guest speakers.
2008 Program:
· The 3 ½ day program will consist of lectures and on-the-water drills with an emphasis on boatspeed. This will be combined with information on what it takes to reach your goals in sailing. Detailed schedule is within this portion of the site.
· This clinic is be held in Laser Full Rig, Laser Radial, 29er and Club 420’s. It is a BRING YOUR OWN BOAT Clinic, but........
· Some boats may be available for charter to out-of-area applicants. (charter fees additional) 420/Laser sailors, call Bob Adam at The Vanguard Sailing Center RI for more information. 401-683-0400. 29er Teams also must bring their own boat and be approved by resume. The 29er division will only happen if 8 teams are accepted.
· Applicants 14 years or older will be selected based upon their resume. This is a very intense, high level program. Participants will be limited. Selection is by application and acceptance only. · Participants accepted into the BEG Clinic will be contacted by April 15th. Participants will receive an online link to Sail Newport’s payment gateway. At that time, you will be able to view this year’s coach list and updated schedules.
· Entry Fees *(due May 15, 2008) $435 per Laser Full Rig or Radial. $870 per Club 420 or 29er Team. ($435 per sailor). Cost includes: Housing, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Friday Saturday and Sunday, Clinic Gear, highest quality coaching and Educational Materials. Payments are due NO LATER than May 15th, 2008 or your slot may be forfeited.
