Robert H. Tiedemann Classic Yachting Weekend is a celebration of classic yachting in Newport The regatta appeals to three groups—classic sailing yachts, classic power yachts and the noted 12 Meter fleet. We welcome the 6 Metre yachts as they prepare in Newport for their World Cup here in September.
Elizabeth Tiedemann is the honorary chair of the event. The late Bob Tiedemann was a noted and beloved yachting enthusiast in Newport. His legacy includes the revival of the yachting tradition on Narragansett Bay. From his devotion to 12 Meters, his care of classic craft including power and sail, he is closely associated with the promotion, appreciation and preservation of these maritime treasures.
