Community Outreach
Sail Newport Always says Yes! to free lessons for community-based organizations and public and charter schools. We reach out to the community to provide sailing programs for those in the community. Sailing is a life-affirming sport and is a healthy outdoor recreational activity. Students of all ages benefit from being on the water and from the accomplishment of sailing a boat in the wind and waves to navigate from one point to the other.
In addition to being a joyful activity, sailing builds self-esteem and develops confidence, team-work abilities, communication skills and situational awareness. With our greatest natural asset of Narragansett Bay surrounding our island, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy sailing and a connection to nature.
