Youth Racing Programs

The Sail Newport summer youth program includes race training in some of the two-week dinghy sessions. However, for students with a goal to pursue racing, there are several options for high-performance training in our youth racing programs also in the summer, and in the fall and spring.

Sail Newport has expanded its clinic line-up and training opportunities for Optimist, C420 and ILCA (Laser) sailors.  The full slate of youth racing clinics include those for Optimist Championship Fleet (red, white, blue) spring training, and Intro. to high school sailing (C420s).  For ILCA sailors we offer both an Intro. to  ILCA Racing Clinic, and an Advanced ILCA Racing Clinic.   Also, for those sailors wishing to complete in the Area A C420 event, a clinic is offered as is a clinic for the girls’ NBYA Mary Rose Marshall event.  Training is also available prior to USODA New Englands for sailors who want to up their game for this annual event taking place at Sail Newport.
