Sail Newport announces the global marine gear brand Gill has been named their official apparel supplier for the 2024 season. The Sail Newport staff will wear the Gill-branded gear for adult and youth instructional and racing programs, regattas, rental programs, sailing center operations, and special events.
“Gill is a trusted sailing brand, and we’re proud to outfit our staff of over fifty sailing instructors, coaches, race committee, and managers. Gill is synonymous with sailing, and its gear is unmatched for excellent performance in all weather conditions,” says Brad Read, executive director of Sail Newport.
In addition to foul weather gear, Gill will provide casual apparel for the sailing staff and on-the-water volunteers.
“We’re really looking forward to another great year working in partnership with Sail Newport. They’re such a significant pillar within the Newport sailing community; together, we hope we can support and expand the great work they’re doing to increase access for both youth and adult sailors,” says Gill North America Executive Vice President Dominic McCarthy.
Gill will also sponsor Sail Newport regattas and clinics, including The Annual Youth Challenge (June 8-9) and The Brooke. E. Gonzalez Advanced Racing Clinic (June 14-16), The new C420 Invitational Clinic (June 20-21), the 40th Anniversary Newport Regatta (July 13-14), the USODA New England Championships (August 13-15), Sail for Hope (Sept. 28), and the Halloween Howl (Oct. 26-27).
