Sail Newport Marine Exploration Program 5th Grade Vacation Program had an awesome 4 days in our 11th Hour Racing Greatroom Classroom and Fort Adams beach! 5th graders learned the biomechanics of clams and oysters thanks to the donation of mollusks from Bridgeport Seafood, Tiverton! We compared the principles of tinfoil boats to plankton with Sailors for the Sea KELP activities. Thursday we compared Kelp to land plants with real Kelp samples from @Rhody Wild Sea Gardens! Some microscope enthusiasts were born with the help of URI Graduate School of Oceanography where anything that could went under the scope!
